Ender's Game - Chapter 14 (Part 3)

  1. At first, working together brings Ender and his squadron leaders close together. What effect does fighting long simulations and battles have on them though- how does it change their relationship?
  2. Ender is either going over replays or fighting in the simulator almost constantly. What effect does this have on him mentally and physically and what is Mazer’s reaction to this?
  3. Why do some of Ender’s squadron leaders collapse?
  4. There is quite a bit of symbolism in the dreams that Ender has. Choose one symbol and explain why that is so important to Ender.
  5. What is Ender’s final examination in Command School?

3 comments:

  1. 1. It wears them out, and it strains on everyone's personal relationships with one another.

    2. He is becoming a bit uneasy and feels that Mazer is cheating. However, Mazer does not see it that way.

    3. Because the pressure is too much for them to withstand.

    4. He kills Valentine. I believe that symbolizes him basically losing his mind and becoming bloodthirsty.

    5. To fight a trillion enemies with a much more smaller army than his opponents'.

3- They collapsed because they are stressed and tired.

4- The knawing of the hand. This symbolizes the hunger state that he is in.

  3. 1 Ender has to be brutal to his Commanders in order to get the job done.

2 Ender does not know what is a game and what is not. He does not want to kill anybody.

3 They either got stressed or blown from the sky by buggers.

4 Seeing Peter in the mirror causes Ender to feel more like him especially after killing off billions of buggers.

5 To see if he can beat a game thats actually reality with a huge disadvantage.
