Ender's Game - Chapter 14 (Part 2)

  1. Ender was either with Mazer Rackham or locked in his room. Why wasn’t Ender allowed to roam freely?
  2. What do you believe is the reason that Mazer cannot be the commander for the fleet this time?
  3. What is the difference between the way that buggers think and the way that humans think? Why is this important to Mazer and Ender?
  4. What is Mazer’s purpose now that Ender is learning how to control a fleet of ships?
  5. How is Mazer treating Ender and why does he do this?

3 comments:

  1. 1. He isn't worthy enough.

    2. Because he is too good, and they want someone else to hold the shine for a while.

    3. Buggers think with their minds, humans think out-loud, if the idea is good enough.

    4. To sort of be Ender's mentor.

    5. He is trusting Ender, because Ender is already aware of most of the things going on.

  2. 1 Ender was like a locked up treasure needed to be protected from any harm.

2 Mazer is the only person that knows how to defeat the Buggers. If he dies no one would know so he must teach rather than fight.

3 The Buggers think telepathically resulting in the Humans not being able to know the Bugger strategies.

4 Instead of being a Commander, Mazer is now a teacher.

5 Someone in the army would need to be tough and Mazer is preparing Ender for that.
