Ender's Game - Chapter 7 (Part 2)

“They never tell you any more truth than they have to.”

  1. What does Petra mean when she makes this statement to Ender?
  2. How does Ender plan on becoming a good soldier even if he can’t practice with Salamander Army?
  3. What is Bonzo’s reaction to Ender’s plan? What does this tell the reader about Bonzo?
  4. List three ways in which Bonzo proves to be a horrible commander.
  5. On page 95, Ender mentally lists the things he has learned. What are they?
  6. How does Ender turn Bonzo’s dislike of him into hate?

2 comments:

  1. 1. They don't want the kids to get too suspicious.

    2. He will use his brain.

    3. Bonzo is jealous of Ender's planning.

    4. He locks down on everything, if you anger him, he will target you specifically EVEN if you are a real good commander and he beats kids.

    5. To use his legs as a shield in battle mode, stay to yourself (reserve yourself or restrain yourself) and sometimes the soldiers can outshine their generals or sergeants. Whatever you want to call them...

    6. Bonzo punched him in the gut. THAT'S NOT VERY BOZO-LIKE OF BONZO TO DO! What an ass...

-Mr. BuNgLe is not an animal! (Unless you refer to me as an Angler. That animal I will accept to be...)

  2. 1 They only tell you what is really important.

2 Learning and experimenting during battles.

3 Bonzo slapped then slugged Ender for disobeying him, showing Bonzo wants it all his way and wants to always be the hero.

4 Bonzo never has a plan for the battle, anyone that disagrees with him gets punished, he does not look for the value in his soldiers.

5 To use his legs as a shield and stay himself.

    6 By disobeying Bonzo.
