LAWNI - Chapter 13

In this chapter, Miranda's mother is injured and Miranda learns the difficulty of getting medical treatment in this changing world.

  1. What has happended to mom? What is the prognosis?
  2. How difficult was it for Miranda to get a hold of Peter to get help for mom? How hard would it be for someone without connections to get medical treatment in Miranda's town or elsewhere?
  3. What is meant by the following lines: "It's funny how much I'm enjoying things these days. I think we all are. We're so used to worrying we hardly even notice it." (p. 211).

    The mom had sprang her ankle but peter says she will be all right but she should stay off the leg for a week.

    The guards would not let her in because they say they are doing there jobs. they would never get in without connections and they probably die.

    The thing they go through are now what they do every day and they are use to it and it does not bother them any more.

    1.mirandas mom sprained her ankle severely and has her bed down stairs in the sun room and is not alloud up stairs petervsaid she can walk after ten weeks
    2.as soon as moms sprained her ankle miranda biked as fast as she could when she got there, a guard stood there and she couldent pass they told her to wait she waited and and lying on the ground like she was in a coma when peter came he diden' care about what happend

    3. they just don't care any more no matter what happens as long as they have each other or as long as they have tv I really don't care what happens as long as I have TV.........I LOVE TV..... ..hmmm well auctully not really as long as i like the color green

    1: Her mom fell and she sparnged her ancle and then marainda had to go to the hospitle and then the gards whouldnt let her in but then after 3 hours matt came and then the gards would let him in and he ran in and got peter and peter said that maraindas mom could not walk and she had to keep it up

    2: Matt came and he knew the gard and he let him in. It would be hard because they wouldnt be aloud in.

    3: The line meand that they are so usted to not haveing power or heat that they are usted to it and it is geting fun for marainda takeing care of things she didnt need 2 take care of before.
